About Us

The Greater Far South Halsted (IL Route 1) Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in late 2013.  After over a year of hard work and relationship buidling, our Chamber will be bringing quality professional events to the communities and businesses we serve.  We aim to make the historic Halsted / Illinois Route 1 a rewarding place to live, work and conduct business.

MISSION
 

Our mission is to promote local commerce and connect the outstanding potential of the community residents to the area businesses, by providing the businesses and residents with the necessary resources and training needed to enhance their quality of life. 

VISION
 

Our vision is to be the premier organizaiton that will enhance a vibrant and sustainable economy south on Halsted Street down Illinois Route 1.   We aim to bring tourism and highlight the great advantages to starting and conducting business down the historic Halsted / Illinois Route 1 areas. 

SERVICE AREA
 
Our Service Area includes businesses and residents from 99th & Halsted (Beginning of IL Route 1) to Cave In Rock, Illinois  (End of IL Route 1).  We are building relationships with area chambers and community organizations to make Halsted (IL Route 1) a vibrant commercial district with safe and healthy communities.

DIVERSITY

 

Our Service Area is very diverse.  We embrace the diversity of the businesses and communities down Halsted and IL Route 1.  As we promote tourism in these communities, we look forward to bring a better understanding of individual beliefs and values as we learn form each other.

 

We will be working with the state and private/public corporations to learn more about their supplier diversity programs to help build capacity to minority businesses.
